The spectacular mapping of Casa Batlló brought together more than 95,000 spectators

The façade of Casa Batlló shone once again with the fascinating mapping 'Structures of Being' by the artist Sofia Crespo.

The multimedia show “Structures of Being” welcomed more than 95,000 attendees, distributed throughout the 12 shows that took place during the weekend. The mapping, created by Sofia Crespo with music by Robert M. Thomas, thrilled the audience with a spectacular setting that immersed the public in the nature contained in Casa Batlló as well as in Gaudí’s creative universe. A comprehensive work of art that has been created with the help of artificial intelligence and in which the Barcelona Supercomputing Center has participated, providing data on the behaviour of marine currents. In addition, the musical soundtrack, recorded at Palau de la Música Catalana, featured local performers such as the organist Juan de la Rubia and the string quartet Cosmos Quartet.

Here you can see the complete mapping and the making of it.

The mapping at the ISE fair
The mapping opened ISE, the world’s largest trade fair for audiovisual systems, which starts this week in Barcelona. In it, Casa Batlló and Sofia Crespo will be present with an installation in which attendees can relive the mapping every day and with a conference by the artist that will take place on February 1st. The installation extends 400m2 and has a 6-meter-high screen.

Casa Batlló: The Heritage of Tomorrow
This and other future interventions are part of “The Heritage of Tomorrow,” a Casa Batlló project in which the monument invites artists to extend Gaudí’s legacy into the future.
Among the various related initiatives, during the event, attendees were able to download an image of Sofia’s work, a digital gift printable as a poster, which, by downloading the Feral File App, will allow access to exclusive content such as documents, photographs, and exclusive access to future exhibition spaces at Casa Batlló.
